H. Melt is a poet, artist & educator who lives in Chicago. They are the author of On My Way to Liberation and The Plural, The Blurring. H. Melt edited Subject to Change: Trans Poetry & Conversation. They've exhibited artwork at the Leather Archives & Museum, the Overlook & Woman Made Gallery. They've been a fellow with the Poetry Foundation's Emerging Poets Incubator and artist in residence at the Newberry Library, researching the Chicago Protest Collection.
H. Melt has taught queer and trans poetry, history, and art at 826Chi, the Museum of Contemporary Art, and Young Chicago Authors. They've been named to Newcity's Lit 50 list, Windy City Times' 30 Under 30, and Lambda Literary awarded them the Judith A. Markowitz Award for Emerging LGBTQ Writers. H. Melt works at Women & Children First, Chicago’s feminist bookstore.
